On Monday, April 8, 2024, a partial solar eclipse will pass over North America, between 1:45 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., with the sky becoming darkest at the peak of 3:04 p.m. This is our first day back from Spring Break and will be a normal school day for our district. School operations, including check-in and check-out procedures, and all extra-curricular and athletic events will continue as normal. To ensure a safe school day and dismissal, solar-viewing glasses will be provided to all Pre-K through 12th-grade students and teachers.
While this natural phenomenon does provide a unique learning opportunity and is an exciting experience for our students, we urge parents to review the attached safety precautions and discuss them with your child(ren) to ensure the safety of their eyes.
To make this a safe and meaningful learning experience for our students, instructional activities and resources can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D2as73oMt0Z0k5I_zlHovdgzoZReXUxTII8DndGbRLY/edit
